R&D and Innovation in the 21st century Europe Conference

R&D and Innovation in the 21st century Europe Conference was organized for the first time, on December 3rd, by the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry and “Piac & Profit” business magazine, where Sándor Erdei gave a lecture on behalf of the Hungarian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association.

The purpose of the event was to showcase the latest trends in the field of innovation, research and development, and also to evaluate recent years and some guidelines for the future from the investor’s point of view, not only in Hungary but also in Europe.

The patron of the event was József Pálinkás, President of the National Research, Development and Innovation Office. Other outstanding experts also gave lectures on the following topics:

  • Protection of intellectual property
  • EU policy concerning the support of innovation, research and development
  • Innovation trends in the 21st century
  • International breakout opportunities of startup enterprises
  • Role of clusters and business partnerships in innovation

Sándor Erdei, CEO of the DBH Group gave a lecture from the investor’s stand point, entitled: „Does the innovation, research and development attract the investors? What raises investment and venture capital’s interest?”

The afternoon sessions proceeded with workshops and panel discussions, where participants could discuss the emerging topics.

The aim of the conference was to create a new tradition and provide a platform for businesses, investors, startup enterprises, clusters and governmental organizations, interested in innovation, research and development, so they can establish professional relationships.
