2nd Annual Business Forum in Brussels

On 14 October, more than 100 business people and diplomats from across Europe attended the Brussels Business Forum to highlight the investment opportunities available in Azerbaijan. The event was organized by the Benelux Office of The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) with DBH Group as a cooperating partner.

Countries like Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Slovakia, Spain and the UK were widely represented at the Brussels Business Forum. The forum bylined as Azerbaijan Through the Eyes of International Investors, was organized by the Benelux Office of The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) with DBH Group as a cooperating partner.

The country represents a great market to the EU, as the EU is already the biggest cooperation partner of the country with the value of 471 million USD in 2012. The aim is to bring this fruitful relationship on an even higher level. The conference mainly focused on the topic: Are international investors aware of the potentials of Azerbaijan? What are the obstacles? How to persuade them to come? Are the EU enterprises having enough and the right information about doing business in and around Azerbaijan?

ICT Session – Panel Discussion

Azerbaijan recognized the importance of ICT-based infrastructure for improving the competitiveness of the digital economy and creating a legal framework to facilitate e-Trade. ICT has become the fastest-growing sector in Azerbaijan and is now the second largest recipient of foreign investment, after the hydrocarbons industry. During the past decade, $3bn has been invested in the sector, and Azerbaijan is transforming into the ICT hub of the region.

Mr. Sandor Erdei CEO of DBH Group moderated the session of the Information and Communication Technologies sector about Azerbaijan’s Digital Market in cooperation with the EU.
