Route4U was introduced in Prague

Route4U, the winner of Seed Star Battle joined to the winners of „Houston we’ve got a startup” competition from Poland and Chech Republic in Prague on 12 May where they participated in a workshop and were introduced to mentors and business angels providing further business opportunities.

The workshop was moderated by Lukasz Kluj, regional director and CEE Eastern Europe of LEWIS PR. He introduced the startups and the companies who were presenting at the event. The startup teams got familiar with European union fundings for startups and SMEs, the branding strategies they can use during their business development, and acceleration programs in the Netherlands by DBH Group.

After the presentations the roundtable disscussion took place focusing on problems and solutions of startup ecosystem in the CEE region. During that session the winner of Seed Star Battle, Route4U shared their experiences about stepping to the international level with a solution coming from the local problem of accessibility in Hungary. Route4U also gave a presentation about their product a route planner for wheelchair users. They have invented scalable method to collect data (such as speed, stops, delays, vibration, falls, etc.) on wheelchair trips using the sensors of smartphones as well as manual feedback. They apply this information to new routing requests. They also encourage information collection by other pedestrians. For that they have elaborated a simplified method of information collection and provide this as a gamified collaborative augmented reality application.

After the pitches of the Check and Polish startups the winner was announced: EliteClimb from Poland is a lightweight revolution in climbing and mountain gear. The highest quality composites and perfect hand craft are features that makes their products state of the art, extra lightweight and durable tools, to work with climbers in the mountains.

The first prize from the Check Republic went to MyStay which is focused on a modern communication between the hotel and their guests using smart technologies — mobile phones & tablets & TV in lobby, in the hotel rooms, in the conference area. The application sells services, promotes news and actualities, informs, saves costs and time of the hotels staff, navigates in the city and in surroundings, gives a chance to the hotel to communicate directly with the hotel guests.

The winners of Poland and the Check Republic got PR support for 6 months from LEWIS PR.
