Route4U is the new star of innovation. TOP10 teams of Seed Star Battle startup competition presented their ideas on 30 April at Prezi HQ. More than 30 entries were received from a joint initiative of DBH SeedStar and LEWIS PR of which 10 startups reached the finals, they were pitching in front of the international jury of business developers and investors. Winner team was Route4U that won the first prize including 1 million HUF mentoring, public relations services for six months and they will be representing Hungary on 12 May at the international „Houston We’ve Got a StartUp” workshop in Prague.
The event was opened by Elzo Molenberg, Deputy Head of Mission, Netherlands Embassy in Budapest. After that István Molnár, Managing Director of DBH SeedStar and Batjin Zorigt, Head of LEWIS PR Budapest greeted the guests. Then Sandor Varga-Tarr, COO of DBH SeedStar and project director of Seed Star Battle moderated the startup competition in which the startup teams held three-minute presentations, followed by Q&A session of the jury. The jury deliberated on the basis of applications learned during the program and the pitches.
The startup teams were judged on the quality of the business plan’s product/service, understanding the market, strategy, growth and sustainability planning, the development of competitive advantage, operations, financials, team, presentation, the availability of management and skill sets, the strength of vision, and well-defined goals.
The winner is Route4U a route planner for wheelchair users. They have invented scalable method to collect data (such as speed, stops, delays, vibration, falls, etc.) on wheelchair trips using the sensors of smartphones as well as manual feedback. They apply this information to new routing requests. They also encourage information collection by other pedestrians. For that they have elaborated a simplified method of information collection and provide this as a gamified collaborative augmented reality application.
The second place went to Apptalk.ninja the world’s first app & device communication monitoring and debug tool for mobile app developers. It logs and debugs HTTP, BLE and iBeacon communication solving currently hard-to-track errors of client-server communication and supporting the exploration of the wearables and other IoT technology.
The third place finalist was Statzup a mobile and web based project to entertain fans of football using a very detailed level of real life football statistics. Statzup platform uses these information to make the first ever statistics based social fantasy football game in the world.
The team of Route4U will join to the winners of „Houston we’ve got a startup” competition from Poland and Chech Republic in Prague, where they will participate in a workshop and will be introduced to mentors and business angels providing further business opportunities.
