The project starts immediately and ends on<strong> March 31, 2021. <\/strong>The position can be part- or full-time, depending on the availability of the successful applicant. The position is to start as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>The successful candidate will contribute to the improvement of a global sustainable building energy model and develop it with further features, including the incorporation of net zero energy buildings. The residence of the applicant is flexible, as long as he\/she is able to appear for a few personal meetings in Budapest over the project timeframe. The researcher will work closely with researchers at the Central European University (CEU).<\/p>\n<p>For more information about 3CSEP HEB global building energy model, please visit:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gbpn.org\/sites\/default\/files\/08.CEU%20Technical%20Report%20copy_0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Best practice<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Help operationalize and update the global building energy model<\/li>\n<li>Collect updated data inputs to the model<\/li>\n<li>Calibrate the model results<\/li>\n<li>Add new features to the model to improve its capabilities<\/li>\n<li>Thoroughly document the model to be appropriate for further scientific work with it<\/li>\n<li>Draft a scientific article based on the research<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and skills required<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>At least a Masters degree in engineering, sciences or economics to ensure strong quantitative skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience in carrying out research tasks independently, as well as thoroughly and clearly documenting these<\/li>\n<li>Excellent English writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience in modeling<\/li>\n<li>the contractor\/employee is expected to produce deliverables within a short period of time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to work closely in a team, and potentially to supervise junior researchers<\/li>\n<li>Hungarian literacy is NOT required<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills\/experience that represent a strong advantage:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>work\/research experience or training in the field of energy or buildings\/architecture<\/li>\n<li>PhD is an advantage<\/li>\n<li>programming skills, especially VBA macro (but not essential)<\/li>\n<li>Training or experience related to energy demand or building energy are a plus.<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of\/experience with Passivhaus or zero energy buildings are a strong advantage<\/li>\n<li>Experience with programming Geographical Information Systems (GIS) is an advantage<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Commitment level<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This assignment represents independent work, thus the schedule and the number of working hours are flexible based on agreement with the supervisor and the requirements of the project. However, the researcher will have to produce results in a short period, and ability to work with close deadlines is crucial.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Compensation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We offer a competitive remuneration that is commensurate with experience and skills.
