The Hungarian MosaicLights won V4 Startups & Scale-ups 2016 international conference\u2019s competition among the teams from Visegrad countries. The technological company is participating in DBH SeedStar\u2019s acceleration program, so this success is also a great achievement for DBH Group\u2019s business incubator.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

DBH Group co-organized this investment conference together with the Embassies of V4 countries, \u00a0Altex<\/a>,\u00a0CzechInvest<\/a>,\u00a0DeInvesteerdersClub<\/a>,\u00a0Erasmus Centre for Entrepreneurship<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Startup Fest Europe<\/a>. The event\u2019s aim was to facilitate exchanges between up-and-coming startups and growth companies from Central Europe and the wider investment community. V4 Startups&Scale-ups 2016 is a networking and information platform showcasing innovative startups and other investment opportunities from the dynamic sectors of Visegrad (V4 \u2013 Hungary, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia) countries.<\/p>\n

The main goal of the event was to share the experiences and results of building the startup ecosystem in Central and Eastern Europe, and to create an opportunity for the startups of V4 countries to introduce themselves in front of investors, business partners and public sector organizations. The event was opened by Constantijn van Oranje, prince of the Netherlands; and by Jana Reini\u0161ov\u00e1, Ambassador of the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n

The Best Startup (grand prize of the event) was won by MosaicLights<\/a> <\/strong>among 21 startup companies. The winner company develops such touch-controlled modular LED technology, which can be integrated into surfaces that surrounds us, and provides cost-efficient lighting opportunities for unique interior design solutions, healthcare institutions and public spaces. The technology can be used as a solution for underwater surfaces as well. The company already has a registered patent in Europe, with an ongoing patent registration in the US.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are honored that we could present our product in such a prominent event, where international businessmen and governmental leaders both participated. Besides, it was interesting to learn about other startups from the V4 countries, and a pleasure to see that there is a really strong competition in the Central and Eastern Europe region concerning the startup ecosystem \u2013 thus I consider this victory as a great success \u201c<\/em>\u2013 Zolt\u00e1n Kiss, founder\u00a0and managing director of MosaicLights presented his experiences.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe in our product unconditionally and I felt that I did my best during the presentation, but I have to confess, that even I did not expect such an overall success. We managed to earn the first prize of ING Wholesale Banking (innovation workshop participation), and an offering of EY (2500 \u20ac value of strategic consultancy)\u201d<\/em> \u2013 Zolt\u00e1n Kiss listed the prizes. \u201cThese are outstanding achievements on their own, but I have to say, we were the most excited about the Best Startup prize, that provides participation to Startup Fest, the biggest startup event in the Netherlands. During the preparation we got a lot of help from the team of DBH SeedStar, our company has taken part of their acceleration program in Netherlands since months<\/strong>; we are thankful for their help concerning our achievements in Rotterdam, and our introduction in Amsterdam\u201d \u2013 <\/em>concluded the head of MosaicLights his experiences.<\/p>\n

\u201cZolt\u00e1n was always opened to our advices. As a result, there are agreements emerging with clients in the Netherlands and with strategic partners working in various fields of application. Of course, this success couldn\u2019t have been achieved without the unique technology and the market potential of the product\u201d<\/em> \u2013 Adrienn Ujfalusi concluded their collaboration.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe met with Zolt\u00e1n last year <\/em>at our event in the Netherlands<\/em><\/a> that provided pitch \u2013 and exhibition opportunities for Hungarian startups, where we started our cooperation as a result of conversations. We saw the opportunity in MosaicLights, and knew that we have that kind of knowledge of business development and network capital, which is required to launch a startup like MosaicLights. We are glad that the time and work invested has proven us\u201d<\/em> \u2013 highlighted S\u00e1ndor Varga-Tarr, Business Unit Director of DBH SeedStar.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis success clearly demonstrates the viability of Hungarian startups in the international field, as well as the evidence that with focused business development a company\u2019s chance to succeed in (also international) business increases. We will endeavor to contribute in this kind of successes in the future and to help our partner startups to create partnerships and palpable revenues\u201d<\/em>. \u2013 added S\u00e1ndor Varga-Tarr.<\/p>\n

We will organize the next event of V4 Startups&Scaleups in 2017, where hopefully we could present further successes of Hungarian startups.<\/p>\n
