History of DBH

 

DBH was founded in 1994 by Hungarian and Dutch local governments and development agencies in the city of Maastricht. It was the first Hungarian company of regional interest, which worked in the field of economic and business development and was established to operate outside the Hungarian borders. The organization called Development Bridge Head (DBH) supported the Hungarian investments of Dutch firms with guidance and services.

1998
This year the DBV Holland BV was founded with the focus on Central and Eastern Europe.

1998
The DBH Group made its first venture capital investment through the establishment of Vebatronic BV as a co-founder.

1999
An important milestone in the history of the company, the first exit was realized together with the Dutch Vebatronic BV.

1999
The headquarters of DBH was moved from Maastricht to Rotterdam, the business and economic center of Holland.

1999
DBH Finance, the division of the DBH Group to provide financial services, was established.

2000
The industrial real estate development project of the DBH Group was completed in Budapest. Through this development, the DBH Industrial Space, the division of the DBH Group dealing with industrial sites was established. The building complex was expanded with a production hall and offices providing quality offices for several companies among them for E-Care Solutions Ltd. owned by DBH, which operates in the area of ‘after sales’ service and repair of telephones, POS terminals, PNA, PDA devices and smart phones. As an acknowledgment of its operation, E-Care Solutions Ltd. received the Qualified Enterprise 2006 Award of the Magazine called “Üzlet és Siker” (Business and Success).

2004
The 3500 square meter industrial real estate development took place in the Debrecen Industrial Park.

2005
The DBH Group’s headquarters was established in Budapest thus strengthening its advisory and investment activity in Central and Eastern Europe.

2007
The DBH Group opened the first and until now the only serviced offices center in the North Plain region. The 1500 square meter serviced offices center, meeting the most modern requirements, has operated at full capacity since its opening. With the establishment of the office building, the division of the DBH Group dealing with serviced offices services, the DBH Serviced Office was founded.

2007
The second Budapest investment of the DBH Group was finished. The 2000 square meter serviced offices center opened in the number 1 business and IT center of Hungary and was called the DBH Serviced Office Infopark. This year the headquarters for the company group was also moved here.

2008
Based on its experience gained at the European financial and investment markets, the DBH Group formed its own venture capital fund and established the DBH Investment Venture Capital Fund Management Public Limited Company (Plc.).

2009
The DBH Investment Venture Capital Fund Management Plc. successfully took part in the competition of the New Hungary Venture Capital Program (JEREMIE program) tendered by the European Commission and as a result, its fund grew to 5 billion HUF (approx. EUR 17mn).

2009
The establishment of DBH Slovakia with the focus on project management.

2010
The 3200 square meter industrial facility was opened in the North Hungarian region; the facility has become one of the region’s leading industrial spaces.

The DBH IT Services, the business division of the DBH Group providing information technology services, was established.

2010
DBH Group enters the Romanian market and establishes the DBH Serviced Office Bucharest, its serviced office center in Bucharest.

The DBH Business Model, a serviced package developed for small- and medium-sized companies, won 1st prize at the national competition of the European Enterprise Awards organized by the European Commission.
2012
DBH Group opens its fourth location, a 1200 square meter office center in downtown Budapest, in which the 500-square-meter community office ‘KoWerk Office’, was launched. The KoWerk Office has become a center for Hungarian startups and seed capital enterprises with a remarkable potential for growth.
